How do I care for my Downtown Dog merchandise?
Hand dyed leashes and collars can be washed in cold soapy water with a washcloth. Hang to dry.
Ultra Soft leashes may be washed in the washing machine in a garment bag in cold water and on the delicate setting. Hang to dry.
All bandanas and infinity scarves may be washed in the washing machine in cold water and on the delicate setting. Tumble dry on low.
Bow ties should be spot cleaned with a damp washcloth. Lay flat to dry.
How do I measure my dog's neck?
Each collar is tailor made to fit your dog. In order to get the best fit, we ask that you provide your dog's current neck size. In order to get the most accurate measurement, we suggest using a soft measuring tape.
1. With your dog either sitting or standing, wrap the measuring tape around the center of the neck.
2. Make sure the measuring take is snug around their neck.
3. The end, marked 0, should overlap the measuring tape. Where is lands is your dog's neck measurement
4. If the measurement lies between 2 number, round up if it is 1/2 or greater or round down if it is less than halfway between.
Which rope thickness should I choose?
We offer 4 different rope thicknesses to accommodate all dogs. Each width is based on the weight of your dog.1/4" 1-14lbs
What size bandana and bow tie should I choose?
Bandana and Bow Tie Sizes are based on the size of your pet’s collar.
Extra Small- 8-12”
* if you have a very fuzzy dog go up a size for small and medium sized dogs*
Do you ship internationally?
At the moment we are only able to ship internationally from our Etsy site. If there is an item on our website that is not on our Etsy and you would like to purchase it, please let us know so that we can create an order for you.
When can I expect my order to ship?
Due to the handmade nature of our products, the current turnaround time for most orders is approximately 2-3 weeks. Please allow additional time for custom order. Once the order is shipped it will generally arrive within 3-8 business days.
What should I do if my package is lost or stolen?
If your package has be marked as "Delivered", but you have not be received it you must first file a claim with USPS. This can be done easily online here. Once you have done so, you must also file a police report, since stealing mail is a federal crime. Before we can replace your order, you must provide the USPS claim confirmation number and proof of police report.
If your package has be lost in the mail, please contact us right away and we will first try to figure out if we can find the package before moving on the lost "delivered" package protocol.
How can I exchange or return a product?
We will accept returns or exchanges within one week of the date you received your order, which will be based off of tracking information. Items must be in new, unused condition and must be returned within 30 days of initial contact date. Buyers are responsible for return shipping cost. Please contact us to discuss options.
If you received an item that is defective, we will replace them after the item is returned. However, we cannot exchange or refund items damaged due to misuse.
All purchases of items marked as "SALE" or "CLEARANCE" are final. We cannot accept refund or exchanges on these items. Please double check on sizing before purchasing.
What is your private policy?
At Downtown Dog, we only use your contact information and shipping/billing address to communicate with you about your order and to fulfill your order. We do not sell your information to third parties.
